Power Cuts & No Power
When a whole bungalow or just the kitchen loses power, we work out whether it is a fault in your home or on the network and restore a safe supply.

Coastal storms, salt air and older bungalow wiring all take their toll on the electrics along the cliff top. When the lights go out or the fuse box will not reset, call us and a qualified electrician will be on the coast road heading your way, with the cost agreed before any repair begins.
Homes on the cliff top live with wind, rain and salt spray, and the electrics feel it. These are the call outs we attend most along the BN10 coast, each one handled by a registered electrician with the right test kit.
When a whole bungalow or just the kitchen loses power, we work out whether it is a fault in your home or on the network and restore a safe supply.
Damp getting into outside sockets and garden lights is a common reason a cliff top RCD keeps dropping out. We track down the circuit and cure the cause.
A warm faceplate, a crackle from the consumer unit or a smell of hot plastic means switch off and call. We find the overheating connection and replace it.
Sockets that stopped working, lights that flicker in the wind, or cables damaged in a loft conversion: made safe on the night and repaired properly.
Many older bungalows here still run on rewireable fuses. If yours cannot be repaired safely we fit a modern RCD protected board and certify it.
Storms off the Channel drive rain into outside lights, porch fittings and garages. We isolate the wet circuits, test them dry and restore what is safe.
Holiday lets and rented flats along the coast road: we deal with your tenant directly, fix the fault and send you photos and paperwork.
Shops, cafes and takeaways on the South Coast Road kept trading, with repairs planned around your opening hours wherever we can.
Condition reports for bungalows being sold, rented or extended, plus a written safety check after any emergency repair we carry out.

Rows of bungalows and chalet homes run along the cliff top, many with wiring that has been added to over several decades. When something finally gives, usually late at night or in the middle of a storm, you need someone who will answer and come out, not a recorded message.
Our electrician will check the installation properly, tell you plainly what has failed and why, and agree the price before starting the repair. Anything we work on is tested before we leave, and we will mention anything else we spot that may need a look later, without pressure.

Rental flats, holiday lets and family homes are spread right along this stretch of coast. If a tenant reports no power, we arrange access with them directly, attend, make it safe and report back so you do not have to manage it from a distance.
We also carry out EICRs for rental property and clear any C1 or C2 observations, keeping you on the right side of the Electrical Safety Standards with paperwork you can hand straight to your agent.

Along the coast road a lost circuit can mean a closed shop, a fridge full of stock at risk or a cafe that cannot open. We respond around the clock, restore critical circuits first and complete the full repair at a time that suits your trading hours.
We work on distribution boards, three phase supplies, emergency lighting and fault finding for shops, cafes, surgeries and small business units between Saltdean and Peacehaven.
Ring us from anywhere on the cliff top and this is how it goes, from the first call to the lights coming back on.
Tell us what has happened. We check whether it is a wider power cut, talk you through staying safe and give you a realistic arrival time for the coast.
Your electrician arrives with a stocked van, isolates anything dangerous and starts testing to pin down the fault rather than guessing.
You hear what has failed in plain English and get a fixed price for putting it right. No extras appear later unless you agree them.
The repair is completed, the circuits are tested and recorded, and you are given the paperwork. Most jobs are finished on the first visit.

On Call Emergency Electricians is based in Haywards Heath and covers the coast between Saltdean and Newhaven, including every street in Telscombe Cliffs. Our electricians work on a rota, so whatever the hour there is someone ready to set off towards the coast as soon as you ring off.

After an emergency we are happy to return for planned work too: replacing an old fuse box, adding outdoor sockets rated for sea air, new lighting or an EICR before you sell or let.
Every call to a Telscombe Cliffs home or business is handled to the same standard, whatever the weather and whatever the time.
If you see smoke or flames, leave the property and dial 999. If someone has had an electric shock, switch off the power before going near them, then call 999.

On the coast this is usually water or salt getting into an outside socket, light or junction box. Unplug outdoor items and try resetting. If it still trips, call us and we will find the wet circuit.
Older rewireable fuse boxes give much less protection than a modern consumer unit with RCDs. We can inspect it and tell you honestly whether it needs replacing.
If neighbours and street lights are also out, it is a network fault: call 105. If only your home is affected and your main switch or RCD has tripped, call us.
